CBS Volleyball Club

Mission

1.  To provide as many athletes as possible with programs for entry and advanced-level skill development at a level appropriate for their skill level.

2. To provide programs and structure that allows for lifelong participation in sport, whether it is as volunteers, builders, coaches, players, officials, or in any other capacity.

Past Programs

CBS Volleyball Club formed in August 2018 under the umbrella of CBS Athletics Club Incorporated. Since forming, we have run a series of youth volleyball programs, high performance club teams, junior and senior high skills programs, as well as an ever-popular adult co-ed League.

Adult Co-Ed League History  In our very first season of league we were pleased to have 5 teams compete weekly out of St. Edwards school. While offering the league was a learning curve we quickly expanded from a five team-one division into a 4-team Competitive Division and a 4-team Recreation Division.  Team 2 Won the Fall Division, Winter 2019 and Fall 2019 Competitive Division while Notorious D.I.G won the Winter 2019 Recreation division and RubA535 won the Fall 2019 Recreation Division!

After our first year at St. Edwards we moved across Route 60 to Admirals Academy, with a double court gym.

Youth Volleyball Program History In our first season we ran two Triple Ball programs for youth in grades 5-7 with close to 30 athletes. The club successfully ran a fun introduction to Triple Ball Invitational and attended the NLVA Triple ball East tournament. In both of these tournaments our athletes performed well with Coach Chris' team capturing the Gold medal in the CBS Invitational and the CBS Foxhounds capturing the Gold Medal in Tier 2 of Triple Ball East.  Our second season was late starting and we were pleased to have another strong turn out of athletes to complete in our skills program.

2022: Currently, our Youth Programs are offered for Grades K-12 and run out of Admirals Academy.

High Performance Program:  We were fortunate enough to have two teams travel to Edmonton, Alberta to attend the Volleyball Canada 15U National Tournament in May 2019 to kick start our High Performance Program. To see a list of past and current teams please click on the High Performance tab.

FAQs

1) What is the skill level of Adult Co-Ed? I am very interested but have never played volleyball before.

In our first season we had only one league which saw many athletes compete with different skill levels. We think everyone who participated can attest to the fact that everyone who participated showed some sort of improvement with their play whether it be a little or a lot.  While we did only run the one-program in our first season,  we now offer both a Competitive and a Rec division! We have a wide range of abilities and ages, but the common factor is everyone is out for a good game with some like-minded individuals!

2) Do children need to have previous experience to join the Youth Volleyball Program?

We take athletes of all experiences for our youth programs! We are happy to select Volleyball Canada trained Coaches to run our programs who are able to tailor their programs to meet the needs of every athlete! This program may serve as the sole volleyball program in a child's life or as an additional program to a child who is currently playing volleyball in school.
